High-Scoring Week Across Malta’s Futsal Leagues

The futsal league continued with another week of action, featuring big wins for Luxol and the University of Malta in the men’s league, as well as further confirmation of the dominance of Zero Sei Futsal in the women’s league.

In the men’s competition, league leaders University of Malta Futsal earned a commanding 12–2 win over Santa Venera Lightnings Futsal, who are still searching for their first points of the season. Luxol St. Andrews Futsal showcased their strength with an impressive 18–0 victory over Futsal Selection U17, highlighted by four goals each from Gatt Luke and Buhagiar Aiden. Żejtun Corinthians Futsal WA continued their strong form with an 8–4 win over Sliema Futsal Fort Fitness, keeping them firmly among the top contenders. Meanwhile, Marsaskala Futsal Legends maintained their push near the top of the table with a 4–0 triumph over Futsal Selection U19, taking early control after scoring three times within the opening minutes.

In the Men’s Standings after Matchweek 4, University of Malta Futsal remain at the top with 12 points from 4 games. They are followed by GZR Birżebbuġa St. Peter’s Futsal and Marsaskala Futsal Legends, both on 9 points from 4 matches. Close behind are Luxol St. Andrews Futsal with 6 points from 2 games, and Żejtun Corinthians Futsal WA with 6 points from 3 games. Further down the table sit Sliema Futsal Fort Fitness with 3 points from 3 matches, while Futsal Selection U19 (0 points, 3 games), Futsal Selection U17 (0 points, 4 games), and Santa Venera Lightnings Futsal (0 points, 4 games) occupy the bottom three spots.

In the women’s league, Zero Sei Futsal claimed an important 7–0 victory over St. George’s Futsal, with standout performer Vanessa Carneiro scoring a first-half hat-trick to hand St. George’s their first defeat of the season. Luxol Sports Club Futsal Argus stayed close to the top after a 3–1 win against Parr Mela Rockets Futsal, who are still searching for their first points of the campaign. Swieqi United Futsal LEC07 also celebrated their first win of the season with an 8–1 result over St. Andrews Futsal, keeping themselves within reach of the leaders.
